The reason for contacting you is that the Chicago Lions are always eager to have quality people, such as yourself, join our historical club. Whatever your current level of proficiency, be it vast or minimal, the Chicago Lions offer a very comprehensive and unique rugby experience.
Having said that, I think it’s important to state up front that the Chicago Lions do not actively recruit rugby players from overseas. We insist that to have players from foreign countries join the Lions; it must be as their choice, after arriving in the United States (and Chicago) with the necessary travel documentation.
We are a very competitive club that fields sides in the top tier of competition (Div 1, ex-Super League) here in the USA along with the single most consistently successful 7s program.
Part of the Lions rugby mission is to identify and develop domestic rugby athletes. This a priority for us and one that has seen the Lions establish itself as one of the premier men’s rugby clubs in America. We currently have a young and enthusiastic group of players that really thrives on training for and playing rugby. At the same time though we, as a club, are also about enjoying ourselves socially. So there is a very good balance to Lions rugby.
