As you may be aware from our recent AGM, the Lion’s have created a new executive role for “Development and Old Boy’s” that I have taken on. Along with a small team of motivated fellow old boys it is our intent to accomplish two key objectives. The first objective is to reconnect the old boys, of all generations, with our current active players and the second is to put in place sustainable fund raising and sponsorship programs.
The old boys (with respective role) that have joined me in this endeavor are Tony Rio (Old Boy / Active Liaison), Larry Zeno (Fundraising/Sponsorships), Luke Brindle (Grey Lion Match Secretary), Bob MacArthur (Communications) and Ryan Nelson (Fundraising/Sponsorships).
In order for our club to continue to grow and be an influential force in the rugby community, our success as an administrative team is critical. We have only just started, and yet have a number of terrific ideas and suggestions to pursue. Stay tuned for more details as we progress and if you have any suggestions, please share those with any one us. So for now, what can you do as a member of the Lions to help move your club forward? Whether you are an Active player or an Old Boy, regardless of how Grey, simply participate when the time comes. I’ll leave it there for now. I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can and thank you in advance for your participation as we move ahead.
