Our Mission
The Chicago Lions Charitable Association (CLCA) is a nonprofit organization that strives to positively impact the lives of members in our local community. In addition to promoting the sport of rugby, CLCA engages with nearby schools and partners with community leaders to help bring about change in Chicago’s Near Westside.
Our Vision
Our vision is to grow the sport of rugby throughout not only our Chicago community but across the United States. As our youth players grow and graduate from the Lions program, they’ll take with them the rugby knowledge, experience, and memories they made here, which they can then share within their own communities. In order for that to happen, there needs to be a space in our community for everyone to play the game we love. That’s why in 2019, in partnership with Chicago Hope Academy, we opened the gates to the Lions for Hope Sports complex. A multi-use 5G turf field. Giving us the environment necessary to grow the sport of rugby locally.
That, however, is only the beginning. The Chicago Lions Charitable Association sees a greater future for this community and rugby in the city of Chicago. We believe we can make the most impact by adding a second multi-use field with a dome, which will act as an additional hub for rugby and youth sports activities—giving our athletes the ability to play the game they love year-round. Through initiatives like these, the CLCA strives to make a positive impact in its community.
